Late April Report

image

Had a fun trip with the Smiths since last report. We were on some fish and Dad did the best! Was a bit windy but managed to boat a few and lost a few. This was a present from Todd to his Dad for birthday and retirement. Think I gave them a memorable trip - especially when I reaquianted them with my 1st mate Buddy Jackson.

Trout fishing has slowwed a bit with fish moved out of creeks into river. Expect to see more flounder and drum action soon with the warm weather.

April Update

imageimage

Trout are scattered but quality fish are here for a little work. Capt Owen is leading my shop tournament with this 7.62 trout. Could have made 10 with a little gut! I had a 5.3 the other day but doesnt touch his exceptional catch. Most fish still being caught on hard plastics of your choice - Mirros, Yo-Zuri, and Rapalas leading. Dont let wind and rain stop you - fish still eat. You can still enter tournament for $35 and pays 3 places so dont let Owens fish scare you - there are more bigger out there.

Stop by and check out my new rod and reel selection at discounted prices. Have something for every pocket. Also can help with your trolling motor needs at a discount too.

1ST Spring Report

imageimageimageimage

Fishing has been good for trout with alot of small fish and mix of 15 - 18” and some citations found in the mix. The first three were 1st citations for them and Capt Owens fish is leading my tournament with is 5.8#er. Fish are still in creeks but moving into shallower water with warm weather. Should start moving into river soon with temperature rising. Has also been good mix of nice slot rock and legal flounder and over slot drum mixed in. Baits of choice has been MR17 - 3D and Xrap. Grass is back in creeks so you need to stay off bottom. Really looking good for spring weather permitted. Have openings for some of this action - call me.

Also now carrying Airwave and Wright Mcgill upscale rods. You need to feel one to see their worth! Match that with a Diawa Excellor or Plfueger Maxx reel for a great combination at my discounted prices.

Feb 1 Report

imageimage

Been a busy Jan doing Henrys Tackle Show and wife dragging me off for a week. Havent been able to report what has been a fair winter month for trout.
Fishing has been good if you find them, especially way up in the creeks too. Showing off a couple of pictures from this week, One is a family photo of the Paces with a nice mess of fish, That is 2 brothers and one son. How about keeping it in the family. Other is of a 30 minute catch from the bank way up the creek. Freeze didnt do to much damage and hopefully winter will get no worse.
Will be updating my inventory pictures on my site soon to show better what I have bought for you all. If you see anything of interest, let me know, I can ship. Out of state as well.
Dont let cold weather stop you, fishing is good year round if you have patience and dont mind skunks occasionally.
My shop trout tournament kicks off Mid March. Get in to the fun and chance to win some decent prize money. Only $25 for 3 months of fishing. Application and rules on my site.

Will keep Live Mud Minnows through the winter, call for assistance in case I am not around.  I plan on doing some fishing of my own while times are slow but will continue to assist my customers as needed.

Pamlico County Early Nov Report

image

Hot,Hot Hot. Trout turning on hopefully getting acclimated to cooler weather. Many limits this weekend in Neuse and Pamlico creeks. Some nice fish reported but no Hogs. Baits of chose have been Gulp and live shrimp. Thanks to all anglers, I have been running out but will restock as often as my source can handle.

Photos of Little Spanky and mate with a nice mess could in short trip Friday. He is reported as doing much more through weekend as well as his Grandpa Bobby and his Lady. The other photo is of the Peele and Pelt pair. Had a nice limit Saturday on shrimp. I think Peele was allowed to catch more than Pelt being he is the Superior!
Get out and go, time is right.

Pamlico County Shrine Club Speckled Trout tournament Results

Pamlico County Shrine Club held their 2nd Annual Speckled Trout Tournament Saturday November 1 2008. Anglers were greeted to excellent weather for a change. There were 43 anglers and 4 junior anglers participating in the event; a 50% gain from 1st year. They were all treated to a BBQ supper Friday night at the captains meeting which the anglers praised the chef. A special guest, who was once a patient as a child of Shriners Hospitals, presented a testimony to his appreciation for what Shriners do.

Late Sept Update

imageimage

Blow, Blow, Blow - thats the word. Had drum trip last weekend with 11 boats and alot of wind. Only 4 fish between 11 capts and I got skunked.
Cooler weather should pick up trout action, look for them to move into creeks as water temperature drops. I now have live shrimp in my tanks for those who chose not to catch your own. Call in advance to assure availablitity. Have everything else needed to keep alive , healthy and rigging too.

Tournament status has been slow with my best buddy and wife weighing in to get board started. His is about 3.5# and hers 2.5#. She is prettier anyway! Get fishing, my guess is 9# to win. Can still get in at $35 with ap on this page.
