Late Sept Update

imageimage

Blow, Blow, Blow - thats the word. Had drum trip last weekend with 11 boats and alot of wind. Only 4 fish between 11 capts and I got skunked.
Cooler weather should pick up trout action, look for them to move into creeks as water temperature drops. I now have live shrimp in my tanks for those who chose not to catch your own. Call in advance to assure availablitity. Have everything else needed to keep alive , healthy and rigging too.

Tournament status has been slow with my best buddy and wife weighing in to get board started. His is about 3.5# and hers 2.5#. She is prettier anyway! Get fishing, my guess is 9# to win. Can still get in at $35 with ap on this page.

Mid Sept Update

image

Drum is still the word - several trips for 1st timers, even grand kids. Should stay active into Oct as water cools. Reports of limits of trout on live shrimp around the river rocks and docks. Should only improve as weather cools off - my time of year. Has been some legal flounder being picked up too. Still an overload of bait around. Makes you wonder why fish would hit anything!

Labor Day Update on the Neuse

image

Alot of slot drum being caught on various baits. Top water action has been good (see Ryan in Kids gallery). Old Drum everywhere. All you need is FRESH Bait and knowledge of bottom. Fish drops, points and ledges. My wife got her first and was she excited.  Still abundance if flounder but most undersize. Spanich Mackeral in river with most coming in small. Trout slowed a bit.  Shrimp being caught in cast nets in river and creek.

My shop tournament starts in 2 weeks and shrine club tournament is 25 Oct. See links on my site for applications and information. Both are alot of fun and easy on pocket book. Dont even need a boat to fish either.

I will have live shrimp next week weather permitting

Take Care
