PamlicoTackle.com Trout Report

Trout Starting to Gang Upimage

Has been numbers of limits with some large fish mixed in and also some skunks. If you are in the right place with the right bait you’re in for a blast. Live shrimp was rocking but cold weather has cut them off. Mirrodines have been the bait of choice in colors from EC, 26, 18 or chbl. I will be carrying mud minnows through the winter for all live baiters. Call me for availablity and will be limiting hours after mid December. Check with me for any sevice needed though. Will be reporting in through winter as well.

My inhouse tournament in full swing with change to leader board today with Jimmys 6.42 (yes thats correct!) knocking Jeff Bland out of third. Capt Michael still in 1st with 6.94 and Capt Owen in 2nd with 6.80

Chris and Micah in red had a 20 fish limit with 3 nice citations - 5.76, 5.14 and 6.02

Be safe in the cold weather - cant stand to be submerged long!

Pamlico County Early Nov Report

image

Hot,Hot Hot. Trout turning on hopefully getting acclimated to cooler weather. Many limits this weekend in Neuse and Pamlico creeks. Some nice fish reported but no Hogs. Baits of chose have been Gulp and live shrimp. Thanks to all anglers, I have been running out but will restock as often as my source can handle.

Photos of Little Spanky and mate with a nice mess could in short trip Friday. He is reported as doing much more through weekend as well as his Grandpa Bobby and his Lady. The other photo is of the Peele and Pelt pair. Had a nice limit Saturday on shrimp. I think Peele was allowed to catch more than Pelt being he is the Superior!
Get out and go, time is right.

Pamlico County Shrine Club Speckled Trout tournament Results

Pamlico County Shrine Club held their 2nd Annual Speckled Trout Tournament Saturday November 1 2008. Anglers were greeted to excellent weather for a change. There were 43 anglers and 4 junior anglers participating in the event; a 50% gain from 1st year. They were all treated to a BBQ supper Friday night at the captains meeting which the anglers praised the chef. A special guest, who was once a patient as a child of Shriners Hospitals, presented a testimony to his appreciation for what Shriners do.

Fishing was good for some and slow for others, but did result in several large catches. Cash was awarded to the top 10 anglers based on their 3 fish aggregate weight. Here are the results:
1st Place John Moore 12.70 lbs.
2nd Place Greg Parker 9.74 lb.
3rd Place Owen Lupton III 8.58 lbs.
4th Place Bob Stallings 8.02 lbs.
5th Place Kendall Bullinton 7.92 lbs.
6th Place Burt Ferebee 7.88 lbs.
7th Place Tim Privette 7.16 lbs.
8th Place Cathy Delcambre 6.92 lbs.
9th Place Jimmy Arthur 6.80 lbs.
10th Place Paul Hunter 6.68 lbs.

Largest trout went to Greg Parker with his fish weighing in at 5.44lb, just beating John Moores big fish of 5.40 lb.
Junior angler winner was Ashley Arthur only 6 years old weighing in 3 fish that she caught, at 4.78 lb.

After cash awards, a drawing was held giving away a least 60 gifts provided by numerous vendors. Our thanks go out to all the anglers and sponsors which made this 2nd, of many more to come tournaments, a great success. Would also like to invite all who missed it to stay tuned for next year late October event or call Dave Stewart for future details at 249-1786

Keeping live shrimp through November if rain dont kill us and have openings for Trout trips.
